With reference to the stuctivak alterations proposed to be made to the old Sock Hospital at Hongking, to fit it for the purposes
of a General Hospital, as approved with some slight modifications, by For Michael Wicks Beach 1879, I notice that Geverner Hennessey in his despatch noted in the margin, sarp as follows:
"Your Terdship is right in assuming no further " precision is made for the converown
f the Leck Hospital into a General Hospital, because The) werk is completiol. That is sc? – As I have been associated with the Colonial Surgeon on this project, I feel it right to acquaint Your Lordship, that so for from the struchvat alterahons to the building, or the
medifications suggested by Sir Michaet Hicks Beach having bun completeds, no steps whatsoever have been yet taken to
make even a beginning with this work, and the old lock Hospital therefore remainis in all respects as it stood before the propeval The Right Honorable
The Earl of Kimberley,
Jo
Jo
